Hello all, friends and family and newbies to metal detecting. It’s finally here. The website that we’ve been working on and promising. www.metalman9.ca Save it to your Favorites and remember to Refresh your browser to make sure you get the latest photos and stories. But… I do need your help. My request to you is quiet simple really. For the next few days or for a week or two, just make it a habit to Google Metalman9.ca. No need to spend any time on the site if you’ve recently been on it but what that does is it creates a demand and the algorithms at Google then brings the site up to the top of the list so to speak. It then makes it easier for others to find it right away by using Google searches like “Metal Detecting Manitoba” or “Metal Detecting Winnipeg” etc. I am told that it can take a month or so for a new website to become prominent on Google searches. And I hope that you can all help us make that happen. For those of you, who have a Facebook account; please feel free to link your page to the Metalman9.ca website. Again, it creates traffic and makes the website easier to find for everyone. So, about the site: Many of you have received E-mails from me over the last year featuring Metal Detecting pictures and associated stories. Some stories you will recognize but, I have added numerous new stories and pictures. The website features 9 Tabs to pick from. Under the tab entitled Metalman9, you will find a calendar, organized by months. Click on the month to see the actual date and story title. Each with its own story and pictures. Click on the pictures to enlarge them and use your arrow keys to scroll through them. There are convenient INDEX buttons throughout the page that will bring you back to the month page. Why name the website Metalman9.ca ? Well it’s Oh so very close to Stampman9ca. As a postage stamp dealer, now retired, I had a lot of traffic through the Stampman9.ca website and a lot of people knew me by that name. That website is now gone but I am hoping to recreate the same success with Metalman9.ca. Metalman has a nice ring to it and it’s a strong name. The Metalman domain name was already taken but Metalman9 was not so here we are. The number 9 is a lucky number in many cultures as it is individually, the biggest number. Also: Please also note that my E-mail address remains the same at: Stampman9@gmail.com Changing or creating a new E-mail address is just too cumbersome and for simplicity’s sake; not need. I also want to take the time to thank Our Sponsors. Keep them in mind when looking for various services or products. I hope to keep this list growing as time goes on so have a peek once in a while. Don’t forget to browse under the MarketPlace tab. I have no idea how well it will do but someone (my wife) has already found a heritage keepsake piece of Manitoba history. Nuggets. Well it’s about having fun with the hobby. Enjoy and stay posted for what is promising to be an exciting new year of Metal Detecting. I’ve been fortunate enough to obtain a few new Land Owner Permissions for 2021. One location I hope to get to is a former Canadian Airforce training site now reverted back to farm fields, another is a home site reputed to have once been used by a bootlegger. I will also be returning to St. Pie, see the Nov. 3, 2020 story, with a new and more advanced metal detector. Let’s see what I missed the first time around. Again, enjoy, make sure you browse through the various months and catch up on some of the new stories. And keep an eye out for exciting new finds and locations come April or May when the season opens up to Metal detecting in Manitoba and throughout the upcoming year. Where history and adventure is alive. Keep them treasures coming…
